| Re: Coral Beauty w/ Ich Yesterday my CB was perfectly clean of Ich! Today is a different story! She is back to being covered w/ Ich, esp. her head!!! My tank usually runs at 80 degrees and this morning I woke up and it was 82 degrees. Could this be the problem? I didnt touch anything I guess my heat was running a lot last night because it was cold. I noticed her starting to twich a little bit also. Im begining to get worried.
Im going to start my treatments all over again. Thats what the bottle says.
Would a cleaner shrimp make a difference???
Thanks

| Re: Coral Beauty w/ Ich Yes it will, but only a little, but im not sure how well one would do putting it in the tank while your treating it??? The Ick med may be rough on it? Not sure just throwing out warnings, but it may be ok, especially if you could drip acclimate the shrimp.

Thanks | A cleaner will not affect it, if the kick-ich does not work, you might want to think about setting up a hospital tank.

| Re: Coral Beauty w/ Ich I used a cleaner shrimp and a UV to rid my regal tang and banner fish of Ich a while back. I was impressed that the cleaner shrimp was as effective as it was but it did take a couple days for that relationship to start up so it was not an instant thing, at least not in my situation.
The thing to keep in mind is that Ich is not all just white spots. There are FOUR lifestages to Marine Ich (Cryptocaryon irritans) versus freshwater Ich which has three lifestages. Only ONE of those lifestages is visible to your naked eye and so it is not surprising that a fish can appear almost free of Ich and then have a sudden reoccurance of it, often times worse than the first time.
When Ich is in its lifestage that you can see as white spots, it is very well protected and for the most part, you are not treating those white spots, but trying to stop more white spots from forming. I know that a lot of these meds claim to be great treatments, but by a TON if accounts, both scientific and aqauria related state that the only two good, reliable Marine Ich treatments are hyposalinity and copper based treatments. Both of which are almost always fatal to inverts, including corals. This is why a q-tank or hospital tank is really a neccessity for anyone with a saltwater tank. I know of one person who was able to treat Ich with freshwater dips, but I have been told that not every fish can withstand them. |

| Re: Coral Beauty w/ Ich well this tank will never have corals or anemones stricly fish only. Would copper be a route I could try I my Ich Attack doesnt work again? I guess i could try the hyposalinity. Would copper effect my crabs I have in there or my snails? Thanks
I have my clown in my QT now. Which stinks. I thought my CB was recovering so I went out and got him. Im tempted to run out and get anouther 10 g to take the CB outta my display tank. She will be soooo hard to catch tho!?!??
I bumped up my doseage for serious account. As per the directions on the bottle. Hopefully she will get better withina week of heavy dosing. Ill keep ya posted!
