| acclimating plants ? I ordered a bag of Gracilaria. Good news is this guy sent me a BAG of this stuff. Great. I have looked until I feel fairly certain this is a stupid question but is there a procedure for acclimating plants? I mean why wouldn't they be susceptible to differences in sg, temp, etc.? Any help?

| Re: acclimating plants ? Judge,
IMHO, just throw'em in! I MIGHT temp acclimate but thats all. Heck, if you have time... acclimate them.

| Re: acclimating plants ? A good chelated iron is going to be essential for their health. DPTH iron from Tropica is often recommended.
They will also need as much NO3 as you are willing to provide. There PO4 requirements will be met by the fish.

| Re: acclimating plants ? Thanks guys. I did acclimate as far as temp goes and then split in two groups since there was so much. I like the way it looks in the tank, shrimp love this stuff and my Chromis have been showing some interest since they have been spawning. Might be a good place for fry and it also helps with water quality, so it really does have many benefits so I hope it survives.
