| Ricodia Lighting Hey addicts, bought two frags online one neon green and one orange Ricordia Forida. Contacted the guy to see what conditions they were coming from so I could try and place in similar conditions, at least at first. I was shocked when this guy wrote me back and he has 1 actinic and 1 10K 65 watt light...that's it??? Geez I have 4 65 watt 12K and 4 65 watt actinic....shall I get them some sun block and an umbrella? Any suggestions on placement?? |

| Re: Ricodia Lighting I would start them out low on the sandbed, and then slowly move them up after 2-3 days, and continue until desired height.
Ricordeas are not that light demanding. IMO, you could have them anywhere.

| Re: Ricodia Lighting Thanks Nereaga, that is what I had planned to do since there were so many conflicting ideas on whether or not they are peaceful and the light/water currents. So i had decided to start off low on all fronts and move up. |

| Re: Ricodia Lighting The reason some sites say they are not peaceful is they can move just like anenomes. If they are not happy where they are they will find a better location. They also have very strong stinging cells, so leave room around them...

| Re: Ricodia Lighting Well I'll save ya'll the long version but after the corals spent the night in the Post Office, I found them loose in the bag. Could not use Hold Fast(did not have any superglue gel) to thick for these tiny little things that were suppose to be about 3", no plug, at best a sliver of something so I cradled each one in a dip in their own small piece of live rock. Question is how long can it take before they attach? That of is assuming they are happy where they are which at the moment is in a low flow area on the bottom. Help is appreciated. Thanks.

| Re: Ricodia Lighting Hey Judge,
It may take up to a week for them to attach. Try and find a small piece of rubble rock and place the ric on the rock in a tupperware container so its not disturb too much and has a shot to attach itself. Some also use a shot glass aswell...

| Re: Ricodia Lighting Thanks Brad. I have them both on their own piece of rock in an area of the tank where they are not being bothered. So far so good. They are spreading out and I can now see that the Orange Ric has 3 mouths and the Neon Green has 2 mouths. Question is does this signify that they are going to split/multiply? http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...CORDEA2006.jpg
PS: You can see 2 of the 3 mouths, they're green! COOL.

| Re: Ricodia Lighting Yes they will soon split if they have more than one mouth on them. |

| Re: Ricodia Lighting I would eventually get them fairly high up unless you have strong lights, they tend to "brown out" under lower lights |
