Zoa fragging?

Ok, well i have my zoa rock with radioactive dragon eyes about 100 polyps. now on that rock are 2, maybe more of what i believe to be Wham'n Watermelon http://www.zoaid.com/index.php?modul...g2_itemId=4729... anyways, I can never see these little buggers because the green zoas cover them up when they are open, So how does one go about fragging the zoas and putting them on another rock? Do i just "scrape" them off very carefully and then put a drop of super glue on the bottom and put that onto a piece LR rubble? Thank you!!! I would like to see these little guys grow and expand, but i can only see them when the greens start to close.

after looking for more on the rock i have found 4 total. problem is, they are all between others and its not like picking them off the side of the rock they are on top completly surrounded by others.... i have a feeling this is going to be difficult

Re: Zoa fragging?

That is a good article. I experimented with some of mine that were being eaten by something and believe me they do squirt. They had my eyes burning and I didn't even get it near them.

Re: Zoa fragging?

and another question about zoas while we are on the subject. some of mine dont look great, the mouths look "torn", perhaps from too much flow? they dont seem to be in a high flow area, maybe medium at best. They also look faded in green color. The ones on the sides look great very green, but those on top are alittle faded.... colors to come tomorrow, lights are off right now.

Hey Shock let me know how that works out for you. I need to do the samething. I read the article, looks simple enough. Don't want to hack em up till I know a normal person can do it.....The guy that wrote the article is probably a brian surgeon or something....His looked pretty good.

Re: Zoa fragging?

they are mid tank, ones on sides of the rock look great but its just about 10-15 polyps on top that look torn,

they are sitting in some tupperware right now waiting for them to open back up to so i can find my 4 polyps to cut out..

2 down, 2 more to go.... wow that was hard im not gonna lie... i mean its simple , but they are grouped so tight on this rock its hard to get a razor in there. hope i didnt hurt anyone. we will see

ok well fragging is complete. wasnt too bad. i just took a guess on the last 2 polyps i took 5 in all so atleast one of them is green but i seperated them so i can remove the green one.

all in all wasnt that hard... we will see if my surgeon skills are good, see if anyone lives... lol everyone is back in the tank now..

I used a razor blade, super glue, and some gloves to not superglue my fingers (go figure at the end my fingers still got super glue on them)
