Xenia

The funniest thing happened on the way to the eye doc...my car swerved 6 blocks west and wound up in the LFS parking lot. Very strange. So, I figured well..I am already here so I might as well go inside and see if he has any...uh..um, oh yes frag glue. Ya, that's what I needed. But alas he had none so I had to comfort myself with a really pretty little Pulsating Xenia. He's purple and so neat! I will get some pic's of him this weekend to forward on to the addicted masses.

Re: Xenia

Just know it spreads like a week... the xenia i mean, not the addiction... I have horrible tank conditions (mostly just high nitrates) and a newer set up and i started out with one little peice, and now have about 6 little spots in 4 months

& unless your PH is almost exactly 8.3 at all times it will not pulse

I agree...the addiction is much faster!!

Congrats on the Xenia Judge! It was my first coral - which did spread fast, which I sort of liked about it - and I haven't been without at least a few 'stalks' ever since. I have read, and also noticed in my own tanks, that having slightly imperfect water quality does promote the "pulsing" behavior but I am sure that over time and multiple observances, you will find that 'sweet spot' of Xenia zen! Congrats again! I am looking forward to seeing those pictures you mentioned!!!

Re: Xenia

I want to see some pics! I picked up a few from my LFS not too long ago, got a great deal, they didnt pulse in store, but about an hour after I got them home they have pulsed and havent stopped since! Everyone who sees my tank always asks about them, they all (and I) are amazed by the pulsing action. and the different stalks are funny, they all "go to sleep" at different times, the smallest one curls up about 2 hours before the lights go out, and the other ones follow in the same order every night.

Re: Xenia

Not sure if this will work...experimenting as usual but I got a great video of my Xenia really pulsing for the camera. Give it a try and let me know.

Re: Xenia

Great video Jason..don't ya just love these guys. Mine is teeny but I am really please with how well he's adjusted, especially since he's been moved twice and the flow changed around. Has not seemed to "dampen" his spirit one little bit. Thanks for the vid!
