Question how soon can i have anenomies and mushrooms?

Hi all.. i am currently cycling my tank.. actually i havnt even had it up for a week yet.. i have 3 damsels in there.. its a 120 gallon with live sand and etc..
i just absolutely love mushrooms and anenomies.. but im not sure as to how soon i can start adding them?./// i know they require great lighting and thats no problem..
i have read on website it can take anywhere from 6 months to a year.. is this true? or can i add them when my tank is properly cycled,.....

and do anenomies produce in aquariums>?

well im just 1 guy here, but i would say after your tank is cycled they would be fine to put some mushies in. i would only add 1 or 2 and see how they do then wait a bit and go for your anemones. I havnt had anything die in my tank and im around the 6month mark. But it is pretty baren still. Take your time add them when you think your ready. Too much too fast can be bad. Some one else should chime in here.

It all depends on your water quality... If your Nitrates are @ zero and your P.H. is stabilized (8.1-8.5) and no ammonia is present.. I'd say go for it but like sotvotkong said add slowly to make sure.. Also I'd use an Iodine supplement.

ok thats great.. ya im aware that you cant add to many att one time.. due to letting your filtration system adjust with the extra loads.. i probably would oinly get one nayway.. lol.. i dont want to get to happy and loose hundreds of dollars..
are anenomies difficult to take care of.. ive heard that they were and ive heard they weren't.

Re: how soon can i have anenomies and mushrooms?

all depends on what kind and how healthy it is when you get it. ive seen ones over 1foot in diamiter not make it and ive seen ones the size of a quarter make it. if you have to spy your anemone you want at the store over a few weeks to make sure its healthy. Besides that high water flow and good lighting should be about all you need, with the ocational feeding of somehting like brine shrimp.

you know im not quite sure.. i bought the tank brand new and the lights were already in the canopy top.. so im pretty sure they are just the regular aquarium light.. nothing special..

Well, How long is your tank? 72''?

You will want to look into getting at least a T5 setup. A step farther will be Metal Halide. Im sure you just have a standard flourescent light setup now.

Lighting for a reef setup can get quite expensive. Look around and see whats in your budget.
