can not keep corals alive and fish are fine. i went and bought a pulsing xenia, it was great for a couple of weeks and then it went limp and died took out of the aquarium stunk bad, water tested fine through my dealer, thought it was a bad coral. waited a week tested water twice during the week and calcium, ph, alk, nitrate and nitrate were all good. then bought two cleaner shrimp and a beautiful frog spawn, the shrimp died in less then five minutes after drip lining them for 45 min. the frog spawn by the next morning had a fish cruise by it and half the polyps blew off. called the dealer and told him he told me that it could be stressed and they will grow back, next day came home from work all polyps are gone and slime was coming out of it looking like tentacles. called dealer and took in with water sample water tested fine. owner gave me a leather coral and it is now looking bad it is starting to sag and the base is starting to deteriorate. this is less then a week old i can not figure what the heck is going on. dealer thought there was a bad batch of water did a 20% water change and got the water tested and the water all were in good levels but the ph was at 8.1 added buffer.what is wierd is that i have a bubble anenome that is very healthy, i also have a torch that is growing and a waving hand all these are in great health but anything i introduce that is new dies.

please help if you can any ideas will help

There are a few things that could be causing the issue.

1. How are you acclimating?

2. Although I am sure others will dis-agree, there really is not enough light to keep most corals with a T5 fixture, especially at a rate of only 1.8 watts per gallon, which your system works out to. You should be at a min of 5-8 watts per gallon and with a 100 gallon tank, I would only use MH for corals.

3. The cannister filter and bio wheel may be producing nitrates over 5 which is a lot for corals, fish can tolerate much higher levels than corals can.

4. If it is a CPR BakPak, it really is not enough for a 100 gallon tank, If you need a hang on I would look into a turboflator multi, if you have a sump look into ASM, they will produce much better results.

There are other factors, but these are the first few off the top ogf my head that could be giving you grief.

Whats the temp of the tank? Whats the range in temperatures of the tank throughout the day and night?
