I think you may have this type of coral right here:

If so, these types of coral do not really need much light which is good because you can place it in a lot of areas you may not be able to keep other corals. However, these corals can be hurt or harmed by the growth of algae or the collection of detrius on them and so the best thing to do is keep them in an area of higher currents as to make it harder for anything to grow on it. They also need to be fed more often because they do not use light (photosynthesis) and from that link above, they usually do well with brine shrimp as a food.
If this is not the coral you have exactly, let us know, but I think yours is probably very similar. Also, this forum has a saltwater thread as well which you may find better for questions like this since the people who have the most knowledge and experience with salty tanks 'hang out' there. It is not a big issue, but just so you know, I have copied this thread into that forum to see if you can get some more thorough answers and help.
