| Re: skimmer I don't have this model but most skimmers need a breaking in. You need to fill the skimmer body with water, kink the air tube, open up the flow valve all the way, and plug it in. When water starts to flow through the skimmer open the air line and leave that as open as possible. Next, the manufacturer recommends running the top of the bubble column just at the O-ring on the collection cup. Give it ten minutes or so between adjustments. Also, this is where the constant adjustments come it: this level will not stay consistent. You will need to adjust the flow accordingly and often (likely daily), and clean the collection cup often as well. One note, always do this adjustment a while (several hours) after you have done anything in the tank (water changes, feeding, hands in the tank). This will have an impact on the level in the skimmer. As for the bubbles returning into the aquarium, this will go away after a week or two of use. I have included a link to the manual, don't know if it is the same as what might have come with yours. Hope this helps.
