Re: starting a tank few questions

If you mean live rock, yes, well all rock is different but when it comes to live rock it is typically sold by where it comes from like Fiji or Bali and the like. The difference is density/weight, shape, size and so forth. I would recommend 1-1.5# AT LEAST per gallon BUT it depends on the type of rock-hope that confuses you.

Re: starting a tank few questions

Hello Madman, I agree with fellow addicts in that it is very important to read everything you can. We have sticky's and articles that can certainly help you in the right direction. Cycling is a must, live rock is also important. Every addict here probably has their own fav when it comes to equipment. I can tell you that I made the mistake early on with the skimmer purchase by getting a Visi-Jet (ya'll don't laugh) PS100. I will say that it sorta worked but fell apart regularly. But hey, it was cheap. I now have a Aqua C Remora and it's a workhorse. Are there better ones? Of course. That's why I suggest do your homework and weigh all the pros and cons, ask questions and READ everything. Patience is a must when it comes to saltwater. I hope this helps some.
