As I continue to read up on saltwater, I have noticed a lot of LR and LS is coming from the carribbean. It often looks like dead branch coral and dead brain coral with a bunch of stuff that attached its self to the coral years ago. Im sure this is no longer an issue for SW tanks, but what about all the pollution, run off and mysterious yellow disease that is slowing killing the carribbean coral?
Over the years, I have seen brain coral die, purple fan and bowl coral die. We are importing this stuff? The famous Trunk Bay in St John usvi, is 99% dead coral. Cruise Ships send boats of people from St Thomas to St John, people walk all over it, and just have to touch it. Ive been to most of the islands in the Caribbean, and the shallows are not near as pretty as they were years ago.
Wouldnt Aruba sand and coral be much better? It is not as polluted? Arnt we pollution our own tanks?
this little guy hitched a ride in my bathsuit, I wonder where his mommy was????
