Grounding Probe


I have a salt water shark tank and i am in need of some help understanding the hole grounding probe need. I have done alot of research online some say it does more harm than good please help.

I use one....but this is a very debated topic. I have only lost one fish in the eight months my tank has been running. It was due to starvation. I don't think there is one good answer to probe or not probe.

I also use one... The thing you must realize is that ALL underwater electrical units (powerheads, pump, heater,Ect.) put out a trace of "stray" electrical current.. The level of which increases with the number of units you have,(Obviously). This can cause lateral line disease and other effects..none of which are beneficial to your tanks inhabitants. I've never heard of any negitive effects from using a grounding probe. (IMO) $15-$20 is a small price to pay to have a healthy system. CBR recommends using one.--->CBR
