ok guys my 10 gal set up

i got a coralife quad 96watt in today
im goin to get a prizm protein skimmer, some sand from one of those guys on ebay. should i do 10 or 15lbs. of sand? or do 10 or 15lbs of live rock?
has anybody had any luck using tropic marin salt mix? and what kind of paint would i use for back of my tank. im goin to paint the back black. im goin to have one fish. i dont know what kind yet ill post pics as a get things done.
oh i forgot to mention that i might use it instead to grow pods.

I would go with 10 lbs of LS and 15 lbs of LR and I would rec. going with a CPR Bakpak skimmer over the Prizm, they are about the same cost wise but the CPR is a much better unit and quieter as well. You might also want to put in a small powerhead like a small rio to provide flow and reduce algae issues. I use acrylic paints for my tanks, it holds up well to salt water.

Well just got done painting.

its so darn dirty. i gotta clean it up before saturday. still dont know if i will have my skimmer here by the time i kick start everything. wish me luck guys.

yeah me too i was itchin to just buy my live rock today. got some ro/di water for my water changes gotta go back and buy the containers. they are 11 a piece though i dont know about getting more of them 5 gal. jugs but i just might go back for another 5gal of ro/di water and mix my own salt. that would equal 10gal but i know i wont use it all cause ill have sand and lr in there. i went to pick up some more base rock today got some rock from petco its super porus i put it under the tap and thought i got all the water out and i put it in the 10 gal and water is still coming out. thats goin to be a good bacteria rock. when i say porus i mean really porus i wish i could make a vid.
hey nereaga i need help deciding how much crabs and snails to add to my tank think u could help me. i know i want those vibex and some hermits just dont know what kind. i found a guy on ebay that sales a 10 gal cleaning crew its alot of snails though cause thats all he can get right now. he has limpets i dont know anything about them nor have i heard of anybody having any i know they sell them on dr.fosterand smith.com though.

aight guys i got my live rock in and the sand i ordered i like the sand its a lil off white. i went and bought some caribsea to mix in it. the sand is sugar grain sized. water is super cloudy got powerhead running now and im about to put my decommissioned hob filter on to filter out the small particulates. heres some pics of my live rock pieces.
