yeah i got home around 4 something in the morning and i dropped a lil food in for my tubeworms and i look on the sand and see 2 antenea lookin things. im like "What tha F$#k" i didnt know what it was i thought i had tha cloverfield monster in my tank. anyways i move up a lil and see the base and the other lil legs im like awwwwww a lil brittle star. its white though it might be a serpent star i dont know kinda hard to telll its soo small. i think i may also have a baby cucumber in my rock too. im not sure. my rock is packed full of life i never seen so much stuff on one rock in my life.
help guys im goin through my diatom part of my cycle. but my ammonia is still present what should i do i did a water change earlier this week should i have done that or should i have waited a lil longer. i have enough water today to do a 20% water change. let me know asap guys.
my tank has cycled guys so its time to get down and take it slow with live stocking. i think im goin to pick up some margarita snails next week i just added more cured live rock this weekend.
Good to hear your tank has cycled! Yay! Now is a good time to start a weekly water change regiment... or Bi-Weekly, whatever fits your schedule better.
What skimmer did you get again? Be patient for the break in period, usually 1-2 weeks until they really get going....
its a cpr bak pak 2 i dont know if i will have to wait for break in. it was used on a reef for 6 months. they have an overflow attachment for it im thinkin of buying it and putting it on there to better my filtration and skimming. also i was thinkin of buyin one of these http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...m?pcatid=16729 do u think its worth it? if i decide not to ther the overflow attachment i have also thought about putting some live rock rubble in the skimmer on the return side to cut down on the bubbles and to help as a bio filter. well i counted 4 brissle worms they might be fire worms i got 3 aptasias i hated that when i saw them. 2 kinds of speghetti worms. 3 baby brittle stars a gang of tubeworms and i dont know what they are i dont know if they are copepods of what but the have lil antenea and are all over my rock i dont see my amphipod anymore i think he died. i keep on im goin to really have a nano ecosystem.
im adding my last bit of live rock today guys. i had some with some corals already on it some kinda lps i think. hopefully ill get that piece next week. well guys wish me luck ill prolly be adding snails soon.
sorry it took so long i went fishin. hehe. i got 3 margarita snails 1 small turbo and 2 nerite snails i mean they are small. i guess next sunday ill add a fish and 4 or 5 nassarius snails or something im up for suggestions. im still tripped out about the tank cycling in 8 days. wasnt it chadf who said his cycled in 5 days? i think i broke a world record for cycling a tank my size.
acclimation of snails
