ASM Recirculating modification

Does anyone know what the recirculating modification does. I've got a G2 for a 90G reef and wasn't sure if it would prohibit anything. The ASM website states if you preform this mod, you won't be able to introduce new water supply to your skimmer??? I will have the G2 in sump and still want to have a 10x turnover.

I dont know too much about the mods other than adding some mesh to the needlewheel in the pumps, increases bubble output. Also adding a gate valve on the riser pipe.(gate valve mod)

JTizzle, if you enter "ASM recirculating modification" into Google, you can find more info on Talkingreef. From what I read, the recirculation mod takes the needlewheel intake and places it inside the reaction chamber. You then would need to find another way to supply your skimmer with water to be skimmed. A powerhead or water pump could do that, but, according to some, a direct feed from your overflow is best.
