combination refugium/ wet dry system

Has anyone ever made a combination wet dry/ refugium system or ever heard of one. I was thinking about building one with the refugium in front of the wet dry. with a large tank I thing I could do both with one system. Can anyone think of why this would or would not work. Any Ideas

This can and will work. You could have the refuge flowing to the wet/dry via gravity. My uncle has this exact setup in his. He added a Y in the line from the overflow. Then controled the flow to the refuge with a ball valve.
