I'm getting white bubbles in the collection cup but the water is still white.
Ive also seen some people drill a hole on the side of the collection cup and put a line that leads to a container. Like an automatic drain kinda. |
You can put a sponge on the end of the return line of the skimmer, that should break up most of the bubbles before entering the tank, watch you water level though when you put one on, it will slow the flow out of the skimmer and you will prob. need to adjust water height. You can add a drain hose, a lot of skimers come with that already.
Unfortunatly it is very tough to adjust less expensive skimmers like that, but once you do find the sweet spot, it should work OK, leaving you collection cup with a brown color to it, green is OK, but that is a weaker skim rate, brown shows better results but it tougher to obtain especially on less expensive skimmers.
