| Re: red slime in my biocube Yep, know exactly what you're going through. Bad ugly stuff. It can be so many different things that can cause. Overfeeding, too much light, high phosphates. I tried the red slime stuff. It works good for awhile but then comes right back. Why? Because unless you can figure out what the cause is then you have not fixed the problem. I still have a little of the stuff left. I change water more often now and I vac the stuff up from my sand. I have come to realize that the places it does not seem to be are those places behind the LR which I am assuming is because the light is less there. I have one by one changed or altered every aspect of those possible things that can be causative and lighting is what I have come up with. I am still adjusting the light down.
Besides, your tank is still very new and everyone suffers through algae blooms, although CB is not really an algae. Good luck, just keep after it and you'll get it under control.
