| filtration??'s kinda confused about filtration....
i have been informed that proper filtration for a tank should be ten times per hour. Is this correct? if so y is it that every filter you look at claims to be for a certain sized tank but only puts out a turn over rate of four times per hour i.e.
the eheim 2250 canister filter claims that it is a filter for tanks up to 264 gals. with a max pump performance of 264 GPH. (that is a turn over rate of one time per hour on a 264gal tank)
the fluval FX5 canister filter claims that it is a filter for tanks up to 400 gals. with a pump rate of 925 GPH and only 607 GPH with media. (with media that is only a turnover rate of 1.5 times per hour on a 400 gal. tank)
are canister filters the exception to the rule?? or am i reading my information wrong?
