vanishing Fish

Hey all! I have 2 Green Chromis (now down to 1). It's absolutely nowhere.....not floating, not in any rock crevis that I can find. Anyone had any self-combusting fish before??? Been MIA for 24 hours now.

i bet he hiding in a hole in you live rock somewhere i have a royal gramma that gos and hides and you cannot see him anywhere and then he will just appear out of nowhere.

I had the exact thing happen to me a couple months ago, with the same fish. It just disappeared one night. I thought my anemone ate it. It just happened to reappear yesterday. All I will say is that it wasn't alive. I didn't expect it to be, but still.

i too had a vanishing fish, i had a fire fish that one day was there and the next was gone, that was two months ago and i still have not found him lfs says my clearners may have eaten him.....

it sucks but i would suggest keeping an eye on your ammonia levels... if it spikes then you can be pretty sure he is no more.... hope that is not the case good luck

i had a neon goby that vanished and 6 months later i went to install a new sump and there he was chilling in the sump. What a little trooper.

I have 3 Chromis and they are experts at hiding in the rocks....matter of fact it inspired one of the poems I posted!! I really hope yours makes a showing soon. Please keep us informed...we'll wish for the best.
