This is a general rule and cited more to the maximum duration.

| Re: Bulb replacement I would say the HQI's have a shorter life span, IMO. I have read that after 6-8 months HQI bulbs will start to lose their PAR values and may start to cause excessive algae growth. This is just what I have been reading lately.

| Re: Bulb replacement I am going in between Nereaga and las4444. I would change HQI bulbs at 10mnths and MOguls at 11mnths. This is based on burning time at 10 hrs a day 7 days a week. I agree with the VHO's being changed every 10 mnths and PC's being changed every 8mnths. T-5's changed at 14-16mnths. |

| Re: Bulb replacement Like Las444 said, a general guideline. I burn my HQI's 12hrs a day so in my case, I will change them every 6 months.
I guess I didnt factor in the amount of time they are used. Thanks Gary! |

| Re: Bulb replacement Speaking of this I'm changing my pc's on thurs at six months I hope I see a difference. Also hoping it helps the cyano I'm beginning to develop on my sand. (Also quit adding trace elements, amino acids, I am stirring sand more, and blocked off the light coming in threw the windows..phos are 0 and trates are 5). Hoping the bulb change helps.
