filtration

I am debating buying a sump, I have a canister right now in which I use a high end filration pad which get out most all the harmful chemicals, but it really doesnt seem to be doing averything that it could. I need some advice and to know if this really is the best route.

55 gal tank, with 2 clowns, 2 anthias, gobie, 6 snails, 4 crabs, 1 hippo tang, live sand, 30 lbs live rock, plants growing out of control, solt coral.

Re: filtration

A sump is a place to put your equipment instead of in your display, a refugium is probably what you're looking for. It would most definately help your tank out.
