I definitely agree with Chitown and would add that this laying on the side behavior is a sign that you should add some sort of hiding place for your tang - I learned this lesson the last time I had a tang in my bare q-tank. In fact, even if you have some hiding places in the tank already, you may want to add more because your tang is probably showing you that it is stressed out over the immediate situation and these ich-prone fish are probably the last fish you want to be unhappy or unhealthy.
It might also help to keep the tank's lights off (if feasible) and try not to have a lot of activity going on outside the tank. Again, I definitely agree with chitown, but these are the tricks I have learned more recently that might prove to be helpful in getting your fish back to 'normal' as soon as possible.
