| Re: another hitchhiker.. sounds like some sort of slug, or maybe an isopod, which are not good, they are a fish parasite, kind of like the tick of the sea, attatch and feed on the host fish, I can't find a good description right now, but my yellow tang had one when he arrived at petco before I bought him, my friend that works there actually had to surgically remove it(hold it with tweezers and cut it off) He had a small wound, but recovered and is doing great, some species can get huge, others are small, maybe .25"-.5" Next time you go to petco, or any LFS for that matter, see if they have the books "marine fishes" and "marine inverts" very good references, and it is in the beginning pages of one of those books.

| Re: another hitchhiker.. It also may be a nudiebranch. I am currently picking some offf my new Zoa rock I just purchased. I would just take it out whether its good or bad, this way by the time you figure out its bad because it ate three or four zoas your not kicking yourself for leaving it in. |

| Re: another hitchhiker.. The one you have pointed out will eat your polyps, I had a ton of them on another rock a couple months ago that ate almost half the polyps before I figured it out. As far as the crab goes what color is it? It could be an acro crab and are considered safe. |

| Re: another hitchhiker.. Well.. it has spikey legs like the emerald does, but it is white not green.. I put an emerald crab in yesterday, I just found it dead and it's body ripped open. I only have small hermits, and a peppermint shrimp.. all i saw was it's legs a week ago... they were white and prickly looking like the emerald.. havent seen it since. but I am concerned now, because there is no reason for my emerald to be dead.. starting to get a bit bummed out about this whole SW thing
