maybe superglue gel would work better, but you may have to drain the tank to where you want to mount the powerhead, although i've heard of being able to use it to glue frags onto LR underwater. also superglue would probable be a heck of a lot easier to scrape off than a hardened epoxy, at least in my experiences with loctite on bolts, and silicone based sealers... and thats on metal, im sure you don't want to tear up the glass, or chip it removing the powerhead.

Or i suppose if you ever sell the tank, your add my look like:

XXX gallon tank for sale! free powerhead!!

Re: Underwater Coral Epoxy On Glass ?

Hopefully you will only glue the mounting bracket for the power head so that you can still dismantle and clean the PH.
Have you seen the posts about gluing a magnet to the PH and using another outside the tank to keep it in place? At least this way you can move the PH around if desired.
I think if I were to do it I would encase the magnet first in fiberglass resin to prevent the rusting that would most likely occur, THEN glue it to the PH.

Re: Underwater Coral Epoxy On Glass ?

I HAVE JUST FOUND MAGNETIC POWERHEAD HOLDERS THAT FIT SEIO, TUNZE AND SOME RIO POWERHEADS-PROBLEM IS THEY DON'T FIT MY POWERHEADS AS I'M 1 SIZE TO HIGH-COULD GET THE SMALLER 1500 GPH THOUGH JUST TO UTILZE THE MANGETIC HOLDERS.
MARINE DEPOT CATALOG OF ALL PLACES--------Please excuse caps-I typed 1 fingered. Thanks all and you bet-if i glue-it will only be the bracket. This is a new 180 gallon but I think its safre to say it will not be moved for 10 plus years--heck I just moved my 55 from there after 15 years-the aqauriium started to leak of age. Put it there when I built the house and its been down 3 years now the bug hit me and I upgraded some.
