Question Freshwater DiP? / Copper Dip?

Now I have heard about both of these. I'm not sure what kind of freshwater I would use (RO? im assuming), and for the copper dip, what kind of copper or chemical exactly, and would that be in fresh or salt water, for how long and at what concentration?

I curretly do not have a quarantine tank and was interested in both of these methods but I have no experience with them. Please shed some "experienced" light on this subject for me, please.......Neal in Grover Beach,CA

Unfortunatly neither of those methods has ever been proven to work, there are parasites that are in the tank abd they will remain unharmed using a dip method and will use the fish as a host once it is returned to the display. I recommend you pick up a small tank and use it as a hospital tank to ensure killing all the parasites.

I agree, and also, all fish in the tank must be treated in a hospital tank, not just the apparent affected one, with the show tank remaining fishless for the duration of treatment which some say that 4 weeks is sufficient, but I much prefer 6 weeks myself.
