General Rules and Guidelines for Classified Ads

General rules, guidelines, and tips for success....

Members may post any item they wish to offer for sale to other members of the site so long as they understand the following guidelines and agree to adhere to them.

First of all, with the very real threat of Identity theft in mind we urge everyone to not disclose any personal information in the public post.

Information such as Telephone numbers, Addresses, and PO Box numbers should only be given in Private Messages or Emails to parties who are genuinely interested in making a purchase.

Any such personal information the appears in public posts will be removed by staff members for your protection.


This site is not liable for any sales negotiations between members, we do not guarantee, back, or involve ourselves with such things. Unlike major sites like eBay which profit from such transactions we do not assume any part or side in private negotiations. Members are free to post up items that they have for sale, and are free to use the WTB section to look for items they wish to obtain, but that is as far as we carry things. We (the forum staff) are only responsible for keeping discussions peaceful the same as with all other forums.


Members who wish to trade, sell, or purchase from other members are free to do so, but such transactions are between those two members and we assume no liability for goods sold. If there is a complaint that someone did not deliver on their promise then the most we can do is ban that user from the site, nothing else. If it becomes too much of a problem then we can remove the classifieds section.

The Sale of Live Material...

Again, we (the forum staff) are not liable for any sales negotiations between members and cannot be held liable for such transactions. However, as hobbyists, enthusiasts, and concerned members of the public, it will be the intention of the admin and moderation team of this site to be proactive in the monitoring of this forum and reserve the right to restrict, prohibit, or otherwise stop the advertisement of the sale of endangered species, animals which are very difficult to ship, or livestock which may be banned from crossing state or international boundries.

We (the forum staff) also ask each member viewing these threads who may notice or recognize a situation which may fall into one of the above mentioned catagories notify a staff member by posting to the advertisement in question and/or sending an email/private message to a member of the admin or moderation team.

That is essentiually correct. As moderators we do not know the specific laws in every state /country but we will do our best to keep the sales reasonable. ENjoy buying and selling the live stock as much as you can.

To clarify, I only posted this sticky thread and the thoughts and information conveyed in the above comments are well known to all the forum staff and approved by each member as of the date it was posted.

If you have a question about what may or may not be appropriate, please feel free to PM a staff member or raise a question in a new thread. I assure you that the classified sections will be monitored and questions will be answered as soon as possible.

In order to protect members, the following requirements must be met before posts or replies can be added to the sale forum.

Reputation of 100 or 30 day membership or 50 posts.

This is not meant to discourage new members, but it is to ensure that people selling goods are established with FTF and have built a level of trust with the forum staff and members alike.

What does the "reputation of 100" mean? I understand the 50 post, or 30 day thing. I've seen many things for sale by members who just joined, and it was their first post and never come back to the forum again or reply to you.

Do you see the scales at the bottom of your name, it is next to the green online staus light. If you click on that scale you cangive other members good or bad reputation points.
